Selecting the Perfect Runners for Medicine
As you may have seen on other pages on this website, I mention that for Golden Mustache runners to have effective medicine, they must be at least 9 segments long. However, the more segments that the runner has, the better it is for medicine.
These runners also must contain a fully developed head at its end. This head will most likely be smaller than a full size plant until it is planted itself, but the leaves should be at least 15cm (6in) long.
Another important thing to keep in mind is that only runners of a deep purple colour will contain strong medicine. If they are green, make sure to give the plants more sunlight, and if they are yellow, the runner is most likely dying.

This runner can be considered "fully formed," as the leaves are quite long and the stem thick enough for future plant growth.
